Cybersecurity posture check

Find the security gaps before they become expensive problems.

A free security check in plain language — built by someone who's run a small organization and knows what's at stake.

Private. No technical jargon. Takes about 10 minutes.

What we check

The basics that actually matter for small organizations

We focus on the gaps that cause real losses — not theoretical risk. Each area is scored with clear, actionable findings.

  • Passwords and MFA

Strong passwords, password manager use, and multi-factor authentication on critical accounts.

  • Backups

Automatic, off-site backups that are actually tested and restorable.

  • Email scams

Phishing, impersonation, and how staff recognize and report suspicious messages.

  • Payments and wire fraud

Approval steps for transfers, vendor changes, and payroll updates.

  • Staff access

Who has access to what, joiner/leaver process, and shared accounts.

  • Devices and updates

Laptop and phone hygiene: encryption, screen lock, updates, antivirus.

  • Website and domain basics

Domain protection, DNS records, and basic site hygiene.

  • Industry-specific checks

Tailored questions for schools, shuls, community organizations, medical and legal practices, and more.

A note from the founder

Why I built this

A while ago, a Pesach program wired a large deposit to a scammer posing as their venue. That story made the rounds. What doesn't make the rounds is how often the same thing happens quietly: a business pays a fake supplier invoice, a bookkeeper gets an urgent email from the 'boss' that isn't the boss, an email account gets taken over because no one turned on MFA.

I kept getting calls about these situations — from friends, from people in the community, from business owners who didn't know who else to ask. In almost every case, the damage could have been prevented with basics that take minutes to set up.

That's what this check covers. You answer plain questions, you get a score and a prioritized list of what to fix first. The check is free. If you want help making the fixes, that's the service I charge for — but the list is yours either way, and most of it you can handle on your own.

Who's behind it

Built in Montreal, for organizations like yours

Founder of CyberTest.ca

I'm Yosef Rodin. For years I ran the full operations of a community nonprofit on my own. When you're the only one watching the payments, the vendors, and the passwords, you learn quickly what can go wrong.

Over time I became the person people called when something looked off: a suspicious email, a locked account, a payment that didn't add up. That work is what became CyberTest.ca.

I'm based in Montreal and work in English, French, and Yiddish.
